Right just out of curiosity what is peoples opinions of dating/ being in a relationship with someone who already has children?? I don't mean to offend anyone so if i have/ do then i apologise sm2.gif biggrin.gif shuffle.gif

Just that i went out on a date a couple months back with some one (i'd know her for a while anyway) we got on really well an it was a really great time but the fact that she had the two young uns kinda made me reluctant to perhaps go any further don't get me wrong i love em theyre great lol but its just that they werent MY kids, i knew about them before hand though but i really liked this girl and vice verca , Luckily enough we're really good friends now anyway so silver lining and all that sm2.gif

Does that make me a bastard or just due to my lack of age maybe or the fact that one day i would love to start my own family?? all opinions are appreciated

No it dosent make you a bastard sweety , you seem to have a good head on your shoulders , and you are right not to jump into a relationship especialy where children are involved , i totaly understand where your comming from and you are so young so plenty time for you to start a family ,that said having a relationship with someone who has kids can work i guess you realy just have to put the needs of the children first,

As a divorced mother of two myself i have been very reluctant to get into relationships as I have always put the needs of the children first and i am certainly not the type that ever wanted diff guys in my childrens lifes .....they are getting older now so who knows i might just start the dating game again lol

anyway good luck sm2.gif

Danny at your age I think you should still be able to pick and choose. When older women get a bit peeved is when guys in their late 30's or divorcees refuse to date women who have children. It's not like they have much choice, is it?

You're young and I think you deserve to get exactly what you want. You have to ask yourself what kind of woman has two kids at 22 anyway? When I was 22 procreation was the last thing on my mind! It says a lot about her character to me, but I'm sure not everybody would agree.

Dating or taking to the next level with a lady with kids is not always easy. There was another guy on this site that use to regularly start topics complaining that he was peeved that women with kids would contact him, and his profile clearly stated that he did not want women with children. He was in his thirties, and most women in his age group already have children. You on the other hand are a bit younger. But I will say the same thing to you that I said to him. Don't wipe people off just because they have had children. You could be wiping out someone wonderful, someone that would bring nothing but joy into your life. You are of course entitled to make your own decision, and it is not for us to judge. Just don't limit yourself.

I would date a guy that had kids. It depends on how old they are though, if they were very young he would have to be really special. I dont have kids but I wouldnt dismiss anyone for having them if they were a nice guy. Its all subjective, do what you think is right. Im contradicting myself ignore me!
