What is Chat Matchmaker and how does it work?
IMS feature that helps you easily find a suitable/compatible partner and start chatting to him/her. You can turn it on/off by clicking "Turn On/Off Chat Matchmaker" (left-top corner of the "contacts" section).

Match list is created using the information from " Who I would like to meet" section of both: your and your-future-partner (profiles).

People of opposite sex will be in your "match list" if you haven't specified the gender in "Who I would like to meet" section. The number of chat requests and the distance is also counted when making the match. By the way you are unlikely to get into the match list of other users if you overuse "Reject all" function (if you use "Reject all" function too often).
